How to turn iPhone photos into a PDF

Expense reports, rental applications and support tickets often ask for documents as a single PDF. If you've already taken photos of the pages, here are three ways to combine them.

Method 1: Use the Print trick on iPhone

  1. In Photos, select the pictures you want, then tap Share.
  2. Tap Print.
  3. On the preview, spread two fingers apart on the first page to open it as a PDF.
  4. Tap Share again to save or send the PDF.

It works without any app, but you don't get much control over page size or order.

Method 2: Scan documents in the Notes or Files app

If you haven't taken the photos yet, the Notes and Files apps can scan pages directly and save them as a PDF, with automatic cropping. It's the best option for new paper documents.

Method 3: Combine photos into a PDF on any device

If the photos are already on your phone or computer, including HEIC files, use HEIC and JPG to PDF:

  1. Drop the photos in the order you want the pages.
  2. Choose A4, Letter or the same size as each photo.
  3. Download the PDF.

Each photo gets its own page, turned the right way up. The PDF is created in your browser, so private documents are never uploaded, and photo location data isn't included.
